✅ What is gynecomastia?
Gynecomastia is the over development of breast tissue in males. It can give an ugly, swollen and breast-like appearance to our chest. The condition might appear funny/harmless at first but can lead to severe psychological/image issues quickly.
It can be hereditary in some cases but is mostly caused by the use of anabolic steroids, prohormones, S.A.R.M.S etc.
If detected timely it can be cured completely otherwise it might lead to a severe condition and leave surgery as the only option.
It can also be mistaken for excess chest fat/ water retention but in the case of gyno pain is a clear sign.
Clear symptoms of gynecomastia are: general/frequent itchiness in the chest area.
✅ Deformed chest area/muscles;
✅ Pain/discomfort upon touching chest area and/or even lying face down.
✅ Is it common?
Although it happens rather commonly, yet everyone responds to it differently and the best way to deal with it is to act quickly; so that it doesn’t require a surgical procedure.
✅ What causes gynecomastia?
Studies show that misguided use of anabolic steroids (oral and/or injectable) are the most common cause of gynecomastia. And testosterone and or its direct derivatives like dianabol are the biggest culprits behind it.
✅ Are there any exercises that reduce/cure gynecomastia?
Unfortunately, no. Once it starts developing; medical interventions are the only real cure for gynecomastia.
✅ Are there supplements that reduce gynecomastia?
Many supplements promise to be an effective cure for gynecomastia but provide little to no relief.
These include:
- Indole-3-carbinol;
- Garlic, mushroom, cruciferous vegetables extracts;
- DIM
✅ So how do we cure gynecomastia?
Many experienced users advise using aromatase inhibitors like anastrozole, exemestane or letrozole for this purpose but in my personal experience the combined use of aromatase inhibitors and estrogen blockers such as tamoxifen/raloxifene are the best solution for it.
Further more amongst the aromatase inhibitors; exemestane is the superior choice as it is a non reversible aromatase inhibitor; i.e. the once the drug binds to the aromatase enzyme (the enzyme needed to convert testosterone to estradiol); it is rendered in-effective for ever.
Initial stage gynecomastia can be treated with certain medical drugs, but surgical removal is the only effective treatment for partially/fully developed gynecomastia and can also leave permanent deformity in the chest area.
✅ Bottomline:
Using anabolic steroids and its counterparts under an expert’s guidance can be a safe practice but in the rare case that you develop gynecomastia use the necessary medicine/drugs immediately.
